Changing the Guard: The Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place outside the palace at approximately 11.30 daily April - August and alternate days September - March.

Ceremony of Keys: This ceremony has been taking place every night at the
Tower of London for 700 years! The Tower is locked by the Chief Yeoman Warder, accompanied by an escort of guards. To attend, obtain a free permit at least four weeks in advance.

Gun Salutes and Trooping the Colour: Takes place mid june at mid-day in Hyde Park. 41 gun salutes are fired by the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery. On the same days, 62-gun salutes are fired from the Tower of London at 13.00 hours on Queens Accession Day and various royal birthdays. Pageantry reaches its zenith in mid-June celebrating the Queens official birthday with this 200-year old ceremony. The Queens rides in procession from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade, where the Queen takes the salute, followed by the 'trooping' of colours of a selected regiment.
